Dr Michael Wertheim is a highly experienced Ophthalmic Surgeon who completed his specialist training in Ophthalmology in the United Kingdom with subspecialty fellowship training in Portland, Oregon in the United States and in Perth. He holds a Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) in the United Kingdom and a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO)

Dr Wertheim is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and covers all aspects of general ophthalmology. He has a special interest in Cataract Surgery and Pterygium Surgery. Dr Wertheim is credentialed to insert the Glaukos Istent for the treatment of glaucoma. The Istent is Micro-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS).

He has extensive publications in international journals and has presented his research at multiple international meetings. Dr Wertheim is an HBF preferred provider and charges No Gap for surgery on these patients.

Michael is happy to see uninsured patients requiring surgery as he offers affordable uninsured rates at Perth Eye Hospital.
