Dr Anita Tandon

Dr Anita Tandon practises as a specialist ophthalmologist seeing both adults and children. She completed her medical degree at the University of Western Australia and did specialist ophthalmology training in WA. She was granted Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand Collage of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 1999. In 2000 she undertook sub-speciality training in paediatric ophthalmology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. 

Dr Tandon has over 20 years’ experience as an ophthalmologist. Since 2001 Dr Tandon has practised in Perth and country WA, based in Northam, offering comprehensive ophthalmic medical and surgical services.

She performs eye surgeries at private hospitals and is a HBF preferred provider. She is also pleased to see uninsured patients and has regular, Medicare-funded operating lists at Bentley Hospital. She has a particular interest in cataract and other intra-ocular and extra-ocular surgeries. She also has a sub-speciality interest and expertise in paediatric eye disease, including complex correction of strabismus (squints) and management of eye problems in infants, and is a consultant surgeon at the Perth Children’s Hospital.

Dr Tandon is an enthusiastic teacher. Her work includes the supervision of trainee ophthalmologists as the Clinical Supervisor of Training at the Perth Children’s Hospital and Western Australian Coordinator of the Mentoring Program of Ophthalmology Trainees.

She is a Member of the Qualifications and Education Committee (RANZCO, WA) and the National Selection Committee (RANZCO). In 2015 she was awarded the Clinical Trainer of Excellence Award.

Dr Tandon strives for excellence in her medical care, but is also dedicated to ensuring her patients have a full understanding of their eye disease, and the options for correcting it.
